Vitaros is a single-use alprostadil cream for erectile dysfunction. This product guide covers its cream presentation and how it differs from tablets and films. The UK record names The Simple Pharma Company UK Limited as authorization holder and Copea Pharma Europe Limited as manufacturer in the patient leaflet.
Is Vitaros a “Viagra cream”?
“Viagra cream” is a loose search phrase rather than the product name in the UK Vitaros information. Vitaros contains alprostadil; Viagra contains sildenafil. Vitaros is supplied as a single-use cream, while the Viagra profile covers tablets and films. The formulation guide compares the different presentations.
Read the unit correctly
The UK presentation is 3 mg/g cream, with 300 micrograms of alprostadil in 100 mg of cream per single-use container. Concentration, amount of cream and amount of active medicine are different measures. They should not be compared directly with the milligrams printed on an oral ED tablet or an alprostadil injection.
The UK product information requires instruction on administration. It describes an onset range and variable duration, rather than guaranteeing one exact response time. This profile is not an application tutorial.
Consider the practical tradeoffs
Cream avoids a swallowed PDE5 tablet, but local burning, pain or irritation can affect acceptability. Partner exposure also matters: the label discusses vaginal irritation, barrier protection and pregnancy-related precautions. Storage and the single-use container belong in the supplied leaflet review.
The pooled cream trials showed modest average questionnaire improvements over placebo. Injection or intraurethral success rates should not be quoted as Vitaros results. The alprostadil page compares those evidence bases and explains the route-specific burdens.
The UK label advises against combining Vitaros with PDE5 inhibitors because the combination’s safety and efficacy have not been established for the product. A different mechanism does not make addition to an ED tablet an unsupervised workaround.

About alprostadil
Alprostadil is prostaglandin E1. Cream, injection and intraurethral preparations have different evidence, local effects and training needs. A success rate for one route cannot be transferred to another.
