Mirodenafil: ingredient and products
Mirodenafil explained, a short-acting PDE5 inhibitor from South Korea sold as Mvix tablets and dissolving film.
Mirodenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor developed and marketed by SK Chemicals Life Science in South Korea under the brand name Mvix. It was launched in Korea in 2007.
A dissolving film
In 2011 an orally disintegrating film was added for people who find tablets hard to swallow. A 2022 placebo-controlled study of the 50 mg and 100 mg films found a significant improvement with the 100 mg film.
How it compares
Mirodenafil acts quickly and briefly: in human studies a 100 mg dose peaked about an hour after it was taken and had a half-life of about 1.6 hours. That makes it closer to sildenafil than to tadalafil.
Approval
A 2022 study notes that mirodenafil has been approved only in the Korean market. It is not authorized in the EU, UK or US.
